HomeOS Privacy Notice

Effective 2026-10-05.

HomeOS is a private household-assistant pilot operated by Velislav Dzhonov. Privacy contact: djonov@gmail.com. This notice describes the current pilot and its optional commute feature.

What HomeOS processes

HomeOS stores account/session information and the household records you create, such as tasks, shopping items, calendar events, reminders and Agent conversations. Access depends on household membership and each record's sharing setting. Some operations produce limited audit and delivery records so HomeOS can prevent duplicate actions and show what happened.

If you save a commute, HomeOS stores your Home and Work Eircodes encrypted on your HomeHub, with arrival time and safety margin. Only your signed-in profile can retrieve or delete those locations through the app. A live route request sends the two Eircodes to Google Maps Routes API. It does not send them to OpenAI. HomeOS stores no route geometry or continuous movement history. A successful route answer, including travel or leave time, may remain in your Agent conversation until that conversation is removed under your chosen retention setting. A separate HomeHub call ledger stores only a random identifier and request time for a rolling 24-hour limit; it does not contain a person or location.

Why and where data is used

HomeOS uses household records to provide the features you choose and protect owner-private data. Your HomeHub is the main storage and processing location. If you enable iPhone notifications, Apple notification services may process the information needed to deliver them. If you submit a general AI question while OpenAI is enabled, HomeOS sends the submitted text and up to three earlier AI exchanges to OpenAI; household records are not attached automatically. If you request live commute traffic, Google processes the route endpoints according to the Google Privacy Policy and the applicable Google Maps terms. The HomeOS Terms also describe the Maps feature. These external providers may process data outside Ireland under their own policies.

Your choices and retention

You can edit or delete your private commute under More → Commute. Deletion removes its saved Eircodes and schedule from the active HomeHub database. Existing backups follow the HomeHub backup retention policy and are not edited in place. Your Agent conversation retention choice governs saved conversation answers; deleting the commute does not erase earlier conversation messages. You can turn off routine alerts and manage other supported records in the app. For access, correction or deletion requests that are not available in the app, contact djonov@gmail.com.

Security and questions

HomeOS uses authenticated sessions, owner-scoped data access and encrypted storage for commute Eircodes. No system can guarantee absolute security. For privacy questions or concerns, contact djonov@gmail.com. Where applicable, you may raise a concern with the Irish Data Protection Commission.
